Elections and Elections!

For our last meeting of the semester we will be meeting at our usual time and place (5:00 PM in AH 151) to conduct officer elections for the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary. Afterwards we’ll all be heading down to Cold Stone Creamery for a short end of the semester celebration! If you are able to come please let me know by sending an email to carl.healy@csmrepublicans.org to ensure that everyone has a ride to Cold Stone.

Also, the Colorado Federation of College Republicans State Convention will be occurring at 8:30 AM on Saturday April 20, 2013 in Senate Chambers Room 239 of the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria Campus. If you want to come please let me know! We plan to carpool that morning at 8:00 AM from the IM lot (Lot D.)

Nominations and Senator Tim Neville (FREE FOOD)

For our second-to-last meeting of this academic year we will be welcoming Tim Neville, Senator for Colorado’s 16th District. Appointed to his seat in 2011, Senator Neville is one who believes, “Hard work, sacrifice, and dedication should be rewarded, not taxed and regulated to death by the government.” Senator Neville will be speaking about the Colorado General Assembly and how to engage the youth of the Republican Party.

Also, with our last meeting of this semester approaching, we will also be making nominations for our executive board! If you would like to run for chairman, vice-chairman, treasurer, or secretary be sure to be there for nominations.

We will be meeting in our usual time and place: 5:00 PM in Alderson Hall 151. Hope to see you there!

Oil (and Free Food)

This Monday we’re honored to welcome Mr. Kelly Sloan! Mr. Kelly Sloan is a man with years of experience in the oil and gas industry as well as numerous political campaigns in the U.S. and Canada. A native of Alberta, Mr. Sloan now is a writer and public policy/communications consultant working in Grand Junction, CO.

On Monday Mr. Sloan will be speaking about a topic that will fit right at home with the Colorado School of Mines Republicans: The Politics of Oil and Gas.

So come down to Alderson Hall 151 Monday, March 25th at 5:00 PM and listen to a presentation that should be relevant to any Mines Students soon to find themselves in the oil and gas industry.
